After spending about 3 months or so riding around on a motorized bike, I decided that I like 2-wheeled transportation and I love the huge gas savings. The part that I didn't like about the motorized bike was the constant maintenance because bikes were not really made to have motors, nor to travel speeds in excess of 20mph. Additionally, I wanted better visibility - lights, horn, and the ability to get out of a bad sitiuation (a bit more power to get away quickly).
This weekend, I finally purchased a new Genuine Buddy 125cc scooter! The guys at the scooter shop were so good to me, that I am going to post a "shameless plug" for them right now: Vespa Palm Beach, 524 Northlake Blvd., N. Palm Beach, FL. What a fantastic buying experience is all I can say.
Anyway...my new scooter...here's a picture for ya!

It was getting dark...but I just pulled into my driveway after a 35 mile ride home from the shop! What a wonderful ride coming South from West Palm Beach along A1A. (That is the road that runs down the coast, along the beach). I wore a helmet, of course, but took it off for the picture.
My scooter has a 4-stroke engine, and sips gas very slowly to the tune of about 95MPG! It's not quite as good as the motorized bike at 120mpg, but my range is definitely extended, and I'm much safer and more comfortable, too.
I'm starting my Motorcycle Endorsement class in 2 weeks...gotta stay safe. But I'm glad I'm part of the solution now, and a little less of a contributor to "the problem".
What do you drive to work every day?
